YMCA of the Rockies receives mixed reviews, with consistent praise for its location and outdoor activities, particularly the cabins. However, cleanliness and room quality issues, especially in older accommodations and standard rooms, are significant concerns alongside inconsistent food quality. Recent stayers enjoyed the activities, but noted a lack of attention to detail in some areas.

The outdoor amenities are super cool, and it has a wonderful view, but our room was filthy. On top of having no air conditioner and it getting into the 80s overnight, our bathroom lacked conditioner, there was hair all over the shower floor, there were food crumbs and hairs on the bunk bed mattresses, and what I can only assume to be boogers (?) smashed into the wall by the bunk beds. Wouldn't recommend staying here unless you're willing to sacrifice comfort

So the first half of our stay we were in a 2 bedroom cabin which we loved and truly didnt have many complaints but what happened when we switched rooms has really made me write this review. We had to stay one night in a standard room which was $215 for one night. We were able to check in immediately in the morning which was good however the room was basic of basic which I did expect but like the bed were not even made we literally had to make them ourselves. Come nightfall we realize there is no deadbolt on the door my kids who are little are literally opening the door whenever they want and running out of the room to avoid bedtime. We call the desk they say they will move us, this is now 10pm. We go to the desk to exchange keys and are told we should have never been placed there as that is a worker lodging etc and small kids shouldn't be in there- we were in TWIN SISTERS. They put us in the "more hotel like" their words - Emerland Mountain Lodge on the third and last floor. The moment you got off the elevator you felt the heat. There are bars on the window for safety but that eliminates using the box fan in the window. We have two fans in the room on full blast and the window open and its cold outside but its 80* on this thermostat at 3:15 am as I am writing this review. My two year old has been up twice screaming and flopping around like a fish because he is so uncomfortable. All week their were day camps coming here to use the facilities. I was told in one of the sit down dining rooms that they use peanut oil to cook everything which was shocking to me. So my son didnt eat there. At the buffet they told me that wasnt true for the buffet. We hardly used the facilities as we came here for the proximity to RMNP, which was good. The cabin was great. Would stay in a cabin again. DO NOT stay in anything but a cabin. Its only early June and Hot as anything.

Jeff took such good care of our family with hiking this week. We went to Rocky Mountain National Park for the first time- it was beautiful. We had ended up hiking to Emerald Lake and Sprague lake and loved it. Such a beautiful place. Thanks Jeff and the hiking volunteers. Highly recommend the Boone Center.

Wonderful time at the YMCA in Estes Park with the family. Plenty to do, see and explore. Some of the best memories are just hanging with the kiddos on the front porch with such incred sunsets. Some cabins have been updated, while others are not. We got an older cabin. This didnt hinder the experience, but we are glad we packed extra pots/pans, kitchenware, and socks/slippers.

Spectacularly Beautiful in all seasons.I have stayed here dozens of times over the past 30 years in various cabins. We always enjoy reading, relaxing and wildlife watching from the large deck on the cabins. No stay is the same but, is always wonderful and relaxing. Plenty of activities, both indoors and out, especially the trails. My very most favorite place in Colorado.

Leaves much to be desired. The reason I gave it two stars and instead of one is because the staff member that helped us with the buffet was so incredibly nice. However, have you ever eaten at a place where you immediately start placing bets on whether or not you’re gonna get sick for eating there? This will be your kind of place if you’re into that sort of gambling. The food looked like a had been cut for probably a week. Moldy broccoli, brown lettuce, slimy cucumbers. As a gluten-free person having I think one option that was gluten-free was unfortunate. I ended up eating a salad. Definitely think prison cafeteria food. The rooms are clean and what you would expect. I actually appreciate that they don’t have TVs in the rooms. However, the level of effort put into the property is definitely just that of a kids summer camp. If your children were just here for a camp, it would be great! As an adult with any sort of expectation in food, quality or experience, I would definitely never stay here again. It sucks because this place could be so incredibly amazing if it was just done better. Do your homework for this place!

We love the YMCA of the Rockies! We love to spend at least 4 nights in a 2 bedroom cabin. The cabins, amenities, and activities are the best of the best. This year our boys and us spent lots of time hitting the trails around the Y and RMNP! Also the craft center is our go to place for a relaxing and creative experience!! Thank you YMCA for being our families home away from home. ??

We come every year with our kids. Absolutely love the Y. We usually rent one of the cabins and have also rented rooms. Both were perfectly adequate. My kids love roller skating and the pool, sledding in the winter. We're always busy with activities and never bored.

The setting is absolutely beautiful and the location is a very short drive into town. That made it easy for me to run errands or get things that I’d forgotten. I did not love my room in wind River Lodge – the place was dirty, with dust everywhere, and the walls were extremely thin, which made it difficult to get good sleep. My room was at the end of the hall, which, for some reason meant that I did not have any divider on my patio. I had no privacy when sitting outside. I guess the idea with the rooms is that you will be spending the majority of your time outdoors, but I still think it’s important for the rooms to be comfortable and clean.

Had an amazing time. Attention to making this fun for the whole family was taken seriously. A blast for kids... Great for teenagers... Fun for the adults too! Truly a family friendly environment. Beautiful scenery. Rooms were practical and affordable. Would recommend this to anyone looking to spend a few days with family doing stuff. I thought it would be more relaxing and restful, but there was just too much to see and do. Staff was excellent. Food was great and activities were MOSTLY good and well thought out.
