This modern downtown hotel offers spacious, clean rooms and excellent on-site dining, making it a strong choice for conferences and city stays. However, mixed reviews regarding front desk execution—particularly during drop-offs and check-ins—suggest inconsistent administrative service. Guests also frequently report noise issues from walls/neighbors and unsatisfactory sleep quality in bedrooms.

Great stay overall. The hotel is modern, clean, and in a perfect downtown location. Rooms were comfortable and the staff throughout the hotel were friendly and professional. The only downside was one valet attendant (I believe his name was Quinn) who seemed irritated and gave some attitude when I chose to valet. It wasn’t a major issue, but it did stand out. Aside from that, everything was excellent and I’d definitely stay here again.

The Regency is perfectly situated and makes getting around incredibly easy — everything you need is just minutes away. Whether you're heading out to explore nearby attractions, shopping, or dining, the location truly can’t be beat. The property itself is immaculate; housekeeping maintains the rooms and common areas to an exceptional standard, making everything feel fresh, comfortable, and well cared for. The restaurants inside the hotel are also a standout. The food is delicious, the service is attentive, and having such high-quality dining options right on site adds to the overall convenience and experience. From the elegant design to the thoughtful amenities, the hotel feels undeniably luxurious without being overwhelming. Every detail contributes to a relaxing and upscale stay. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for comfort, convenience, and a touch of luxury.

While I would have originally given a 2 or 3 star review, the staff's exceptional service elevated my stay to 5 stars. When we arrived we found that the rooms did not have mini refrigerators, only "coolers" that kept the food/drink warmer at 45 degrees. We had planned on having a fridge for cold beverages as well as storing leftovers to eat later, so this "cooler" was a problem. I contacted the front desk and asked for a mini fridge (wasn't sure if they had one, but thought I'd ask). They immediately brought one up and plugged it in. Problem solved! And their attitude about my request was incredibly gracious. In addition, all the staff at this hotel are top notch. The rooms got a lower star rating because of the fridge situation as well as the complete lack of rugs or anything soft on the floors. It was very cold/echoing in the room because everything reflected sound. I would recommend to management changing out the "coolers" for actual mini-fridges and also putting down machine-washable mini rugs/runners that would add some softness to the room. But otherwise it was a great experience!

This is a good hotel in terms of location and facilities, but unfortunately my experience with the front desk was very disappointing. My husband is staying here for a conference and had arranged to leave my name and room key at reception for me, as I arrived a few days later on Feb 19 around 6 pm. When I came to check in tired after my flight, there were 3 staff members at the front desk. I asked about the key, and the staff member assisting me said she knew nothing about it and did not seem interested in helping. I explained that my husband had spoken to one of the staff members working there. She reluctantly asked the person next to her, who also said he didn’t know. After that, she simply told me she couldn’t help, without making any further effort. She didn’t even try to ask the third staff member — who, as it turned out, actually had the keys. On top of that, her attitude was rude and dismissive. I haven’t experienced such unhelpful customer service in a long time. There was no empathy, no initiative, and no attempt to resolve a very simple issue. It’s unfortunate, because this is otherwise a nice hotel. However, front desk service is a major part of the guest experience, and in this case, it fell far below expectations.

Great location, friendly staff, valet guys work as best as they can with traffic coming into the hotel. Whoever designed the drop off entry didn’t allow for proper temporary parking so cars line up on the street trying to get in as people were checking in. That said don’t be surprised if you have to wait to get your vehicle parked. Valet does a great job with managing the bad design but can only do so much. Hotel is clean and well managed otherwise. Beds not very comfortable, we are on our 4th night and each morning our backs hurt from the bed. I realize every person has a different requirement/need for a comfortable night of sleep so it may be totally fine for others. Coffee is available at the market on the main floor (also in room Keurig), depending on the time of day will depend upon your coffee warmth or lack thereof. At least they have a microwave next to the coffee area so you can heat up your coffee. Highly recommend the hotel invest in better coffee warmers. Overall nice hotel with good food options. 4 stars due to lack of room service, lukewarm coffee (most of the time) and waiting to park your car (not service related, design related).

This was truly the best hotel I have stayed at in Salt Lake City. The front desk staff were exceptional — incredibly kind, patient, and thoughtful. They helped me resolve several issues very quickly and made the entire experience smooth and stress-free. I felt genuinely cared for throughout my stay, and the service exceeded my expectations. If I ever come back to SLC, I will absolutely stay here again. Highly recommended to anyone visiting the area!

Absolutely loved our stay here. Came just for a staycation and were very happy. The rooms are nice and feel very clean. We stayed in a corner room. The view is so cool. Convenient location close to lots of good restaurants.

Corner rooms are worth it and provide a great view with a little unique aspect compared to other hotel rooms. Nice and clean, and was quiet most of the time for us. A few ways to improve: I went to the cafe around 11pm to buy a toothbrush, looked around for a while and didn't see any. I asked one of the cafe workers, and another one just flatly said "we're out". They did mention the front desk might help, but it just was not the higher standard of service. The sheets and pillows are a bit loud. And the cleaning staff was a bit noisy in the adjacent rooms in the morning. All said, I really enjoyed our stay.

My family stayed in a double queen for the Dragonsteel con. It was awesome to be connected to the convention center. No coats, easy tor run up to the room, etc. The room was very comfortable with almost everything you need. Beds were comfortable and it was clean. The bathroom is spacious enough for even cosplayers IYKYK. The shower was great with a handheld and a rainfall shower. I only have two complaints. They don't provide half and half or cream for your in-room coffee, just packets with a stir stick, sugars, napkin, and powdered creamer. You can't go to the coffee shop for some either without paying for it. I suppose I could have gone downstairs just to splash some in my cup, but that defeats the purpose. My biggest complaint is the lighting in the room. It's awful. It's like mood lighting. There are a couple recessed lights by the entry. The only general light you have in the room are led strips on the headboard that don't do much. There are reading lights on one side of each bed that are too low to actually use in bed, and a desk light. You have to be right on the edge of the bed by the nightstand to use it. The desk light is also too short, only a foot high or so, and the cord is so short you can't move it. This made everyday things much harder at night and doing tasks impossible. Both of these complaints are easily fixed. Even if I had to ask for liquid creamer for my coffee, that's ok, but I had no options without purchasing something I won't use. The lighting could be fixed with a couple of floor lamps or a lamp and a sconce. Overall, I would stay again for the convenience, but I would have to bring some lighting which is annoying.

The good: The location if you have a convention at the Salt Palace is very convenient. The 24 hour market is convenient and the first night we got there the one person working did a great job, but I'll put some thoughts below on the other visits we had after that. The king bed room is a good size and the bathroom was nice. The staff at the front desk was friendly. The bad: We went to the market 3 different mornings and didn't have a successful trip during any of them. First morning they gave us a warm, not hot, drink and completely forgot the breakfast burrito. Second morning we opted against any drinks and just ordered a couple donuts, they gave us one then we had to go back to ask for the other. Third morning we ordered a hot chocolate and after nothing was delivered and people who had ordered after us were served we had to ask and then basically got warm milk. This was not an isolated issue, people around us were constantly having to ask each other if the drink waiting was for them because they seemed to be getting a lot of orders confused. Using flat sheets instead of fitted on a mattress is annoying and just seems like a cheap move whenever I see a hotel do it. Plus these sheet were very crisp and noisy. The beds weren't overly comfortable but I've had much worse at hotels. There was some kind of constant low beeping noise coming from the vents or through the wall. The walls seemed paper thin, we could very clearly hear conversations next door that were not from people speaking too loud, luckily they didn't stay up too late. The "fridge" in the room is marked as a cooler and kept at 45 degrees instead of actually keeping things cold. The privacy sign isn't a privacy sign, instead it's one that says the room is occupied with a weird disclaimer about how the hotel will enter each room once a day. One night when the convention got out and the line for the elevators was crazy long I asked where the stairs were and was told they are only for emergencies and wasn't even pointed to any. Not sure I've ever stayed at a hotel where stairs simply aren't an option to use unless it's an emergency. There were very few garbage cans in the lobby and the two small ones I could find were almost always overflowing. The parking garage is just part of the convention center unless you use the valet service and there's no discount for staying at the hotel making parking for a longer stay quite expensive. Overall the convenience of being attached to the convention center is the main thing going for this place. The bad parts I noted above aren't necessarily a deal breaker from staying again, there are just other hotels doing them much better.
