The Kimpton Hotel Monaco Salt Lake City consistently receives positive feedback, praised for its stylish design, comfortable rooms, and attentive staff. Guests highlight the convenient downtown location, excellent service, and a welcoming atmosphere, particularly within The Vault bar and Bambara restaurant. While some minor concerns regarding parking costs and occasional room temperature fluctuations have been noted, the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive.
Me and my daughter stayed here for my mother's funeral and we were traveling with two cats and had an absolutely amazing stay. The rooms were quiet and clean our cats had no problem adjusting to the rooms especially because they were quiet and spacious. We were in a double queen with a city view. The staff was amazing and even sent up a little condolence snack that was there when we got back from the funeral. My daughter wasn't happy the cats were disturbed but that turned out to be a complete non issue, the room service staff did slightly ignore the DND and that's probably because it was covered with the no makeup service tag. The cats were the reason for the DND but they did not seem to be upset about the visit at all and indicated to us that they had interacted with the service personnel and were actually even more relaxed after that so I'm pretty sure they used the toys we had there to play with them for a minute. The vault was an awesome atmosphere to grab a quick night cap after the funeral with great bar tenders that clearly care about the place they work and are actively trying to better the experience. The toiletries were great and much appreciated and of great quality, great shower with a slightly overkill showerhead. Overall we had no issues with the provided services. The Bambara was also amazing with my picky daughters requests while still allowing me to have a wonderful breakfast. She wanted plain over done scrambled eggs and me not realizing they would still try to fancy up that didn't ask to have them plain as day over cooked scrambled eggs. They came out with chives and she was not happy about the added greenery. But they were very accommodating when sending those back for something I'm sure the chefs thought were destroyed and they even had them right out for her. On top of that I went and got Yannis Greek take out a childhood favorite of mine, one that my mom used to take me too all the time and the fries were unsalted for my daughter's taste, they had no problem providing a small side of salt no questions asked. I do wish I had the time to utilize the others services they provided and the only real complaint I even had is the ice and water machines were a pain to get them to dispense ice or water.
We stayed here for one night while we visited Thanksgiving Point, Liberty Park, and Tinker's Cat Cafe. The hotel was beautiful and clean. All the staff members were exceptionally kind, well-informed, and welcoming. The valets were prompt and friendly. Special shout-out to Ayen, who took care of us at the front desk. She is very welcoming and thoughtful. We were upgraded to a suite, which was a lovely surprise. The room was spacious, clean, and quiet. Overall one of the nicest hotels we've ever stayed at!
Comfortable, cool hotel with a great location near the convention center. The room was well furnished and equipped with everything I needed (bath robes!) Unfortunately not much of a view but so it goes. The lobby had ample room for working / a zoom call. The staff were all friendly and chill. The bar downstairs was pretty happening on a Friday night. I’d stay there again!
I enjoyed staying the weekend here so much! Very close to the airport and everything you would wanna do in the city. The hotel itself is beautiful and clean. The staff was very nice and helpful, including Sebastian and all of the valet team. We were welcomed upon arrival with hot apple cider in the lobby which was so nice to have. Pets were also very welcome and had amenities! Great food and fast room service, too. I’d come back in a heartbeat.
We came for a staycation. You cannot beat the location. Parked in the garage next door. Charge is now $36 overnight vs $30 last year. Checkin was super fast, mentioned that we had been upgraded to a 1 bedroom suite (yeah!), got our room card and off we went to room 303. Entered the suite and oh my goodness - separate room with desk, TV, fridge, couch and chair, fantastic views. Bedroom had a plush king bed, TV, the best smelling body wash, shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom and lovely smelling soap. The bed was so soft and comfortable I slept a full 9 hours. I never sleep more than 6! It was an absolute wonderful stay. I was able to checkout on the IHG app and off we went. We come here annually for staycation and was reminded again why we keep coming back. Well done Hotel Monaco.
We had a wonderful time here. We didn’t rent a car, but it was a good decision since everything was so walkable. Their coffee and tea bar in the mornings saved us a headache. The food at their restaurant was delicious, and the hotel manager, Catherine, was just the epitome of amazing costumer service (even noticing it was my fiancé’s birthday from his ID)! The entire staff was just lovely.
Stayed here for a couple nights in December and have a bit of a mixed review. The hotel was nice, the room I was in didn't have the best view, but the bed was comfortable and the room was clean. The hotel is in a good location with plenty of great restaurants and things to do in walking distance. I was traveling with my cat and had notified the hotel that I'd be bringing her and requested a litter box with litter and food bowls to be in the room when we checked in, since we'd be going straight to a dinner reservation after checking in. They said they could do this. Despite calling in advance, it was not in the room when we checked in. I then ended up waiting for around 20 minutes after checking in for them to be brought to the room. Additionally, we were told that we could not do breakfast at the hotel for one of the mornings since we hadn't made a reservation, even though we had a breakfast credit included with our hotel stay. Eventually, they said we could (if we waited an hour for a table to open up). The breakfast itself was great, but I wish the hotel would have warned us at check-in or beforehand that we would need to reserve the breakfast in advance or else that we'd be waiting over an hour before being seated. Other than that, it was a pleasant stay.
This place is very nice! It is a great location, clean, and well-maintained. The beds are so comfy! There is a nice fitness room, and a restaurant. A few things to be aware of: this hotel doesn't have a pool, hot tub, or free breakfast. Also, the bathroom door is a pocket door with no lock.
Emily made the whole experience. She went above and beyond to make sure that my friend and I had a good stay. There were a few issues with the room, but she handled everything with such care and professionalism. Location is excellent and beds are very comfortable.
First impressions mixed. Historic building...had been remodeled a few times. No free parking though...valet service only $47/ night. AND gratuity not included and expected!!! Beds are comfy....no coffee maker in room, only available in lobby. Microwave can be requested and sent to room. Fitness room was adequately equipped....but will be crowded if there are 5 + persons in there.
