We stayed here and hosted a conference for about 1000 people here in June 2026. The management, staff and hospitality team were amazing - they delivered a A+, top notch, bougie conference as promised by the sales team (Matt!). The conference food was very good for buffet food, the ambience was incredible, the pool was very kid friendly, and overall, we were very pleased with the hotel (Javier was incredible!). Definitely an immaculate, bougie hotel delivering top notch customer service. The hotel rooms - huge, luxurious and super immaculate. The hotel restaurant, Laurel, had incredible food (lemon ricotta pancakes, Bolognese pasta, and gelato). The coffee shop was surprisingly inexpensive and had great lattes. I wish I could have gone to the spa, but I heard amazing things! I also wish I could have gone to their afternoon tea (They had a harpist playing!), but will add to my eventual bucket list. Will be my goto place to stay whenever visiting SLC now!
If you're going to splurge on accommodation in SLC, splurge here. The lobby alone is worth walking through even if you're not a guest — the scale and opulence are genuinely impressive. Rooms are huge, service is exceptional, and the Sunday brunch is a proper SLC institution. The pool is beautiful. Location is central and walkable to tons of things. For a special occasion, it's hard to imagine doing better in Utah.
I had a wonderful experience at the American Grand Hotel. The staff were professional, friendly, and always ready to help. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, and the overall atmosphere of the hotel was very welcoming. A special thank you to Mr. Olawole, the supervisor, for his excellent hospitality and outstanding customer service. He was attentive, respectful, and made sure everything went smoothly during my stay. His professionalism truly made a positive difference and added to the great experience. I would definitely recommend the American Grand Hotel to anyone looking for comfort, quality service, and a pleasant stay.

It is quite simply the largest, most comprehensively equipped fitness room I have ever encountered in a hotel globally. ?However, the definitive crown jewel of the experience is the afternoon high tea. It is an extraordinary, spectacular ritual that no visitor should miss. The service, the presentation, and the breathtaking surroundings combine to create something magical. ?When an estate achieves this level of harmony between its staff, its amenities, and its atmosphere, it ceases to be just a hotel—it becomes an experience. A magnificent property that genuinely cares for its guests and delivers on every promise.
Wonderful all around. Tremendous service across the property, from the valet to the front desk and staff at the restaurants and bar. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with more of a 90s lux feel, but it totally works. The lobby and bar area are absolutely stunning. Love staying here to ski and picking my mountain to drive 45 mins to each morning.
Traveled here on business for a leadership summit. To start the rooms where amazing comfortable bed comfortable pillows a sitting room the bathtub was great very clean detailed a lot of thought went into this hotel. Service was amazing everyone was friendly and welcoming available for assistance. Location was great took a cruise around at night and during the day. Definitely will be back Laura Cafe was great I believe that was the name. The kids stores amazing had great souvenir items. They had someone playing the harp. Plenty of staff multiple restrooms available The Grand room we were in for a leadership meeting at just enough space to accommodate all of leadership food they provided during breakfast lunch and dinner it's all amazing Hawaii variety of choices I am non-dairy so they have nice variety of non-dairy options the only thing I would suggest is adding non-dairy dessert items but I'm not sure if that had to do with the package request from my company. Overall definitely beautiful relaxing stay will return
I’ve stayed at this hotel multiple times over the past couple of months, and every time I leave I’m looking forward to returning. The hotel is beautiful. The spa experience was enjoyable. The room service was quick. The valet parking was stress free and helpful. The whole experience here was amazing. Thank you! Can’t wait to come back for another stay.
We visited the Grand America Hotel today for the Princess Tea Party, and it was absolutely marvelous! The environment was gorgeous—elegant, warm, and truly magical. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, making the entire experience feel extra special. Our waiter, Kody, was so kind, helpful, and attentive. She truly provided amazing service and made us feel completely taken care of. We also had the pleasure of meeting the hotel manager (I believe), who was incredibly gracious and especially sweet to my daughter. It meant so much to see her treated with such genuine kindness. And the toy shop—wow! It’s out of this world. There are so many adorable, unique toys that you could easily spend hours browsing. It’s such a special addition to an already wonderful experience. We will absolutely continue visiting the Grand America. It’s such a lovely place to spend time, made even better by the consistently kind and welcoming staff. Highly recommend!

My company stayed at the Grand America for a 4 day event and we had a great time. My room was amazing. It was really large with a living room area, a big bedroom and a nice closet area that led into a big bathroom with a full tub and full shower. The bed was comfortable and I slept great each night. Great water pressure with really cold, and really hot water for whatever your temp needs to be. We used the ballroom and other large rooms for our event and they worked really well. We had probably over 500 people and we had plenty of room to do our combined events, as well as our breakout groups. They also provided our meals. The food was good, not great, but better than I expected. I’m sure cooking for that many people to eat at the same time is quite the challenge. Additionally, I had a chai tea and some macaroons at Bonne Vie cafe one of the mornings and it was great. Awesome service and great drinks and treats. The rest of the service we received was also great. There were a ton of employees setting up, taking down, preparing food, cleaning up and all the things and everyone seemed to do a great job. All in all, it was a great place for the event and everyone had a successful week.
