This downtown Salt Lake City hotel receives high praise for its luxurious, spacious rooms and unbeatable location near attractions like Temple Square and Rice-Eccles Stadium. Guests frequently highlight excellent service, attentive staff, and reliable amenities like the gym and bar. However, the experience is marred by significant noise issues, intermittent maintenance failures (such as lack of hot water and AC), and some inconsistent housekeeping standards.

We have stayed in many motels in downtown Salt Lake City, and this one is by far the best. From the friendly and efficient check-in receptionist to the smooth check-out process, the entire experience was excellent. The rooms are clean, very spacious, and the beds are comfortable, making for a relaxing stay overall. The only minor complaint was around 8 AM March 01, 2026 it sounded like furniture was being moved in the room above us. The noise lasted about an hour and unfortunately woke us up. We stayed in room 401. Other than that small issue, everything was great. I will definitely be staying here again — this will be my first choice from now on.

I had a great stay at the Salt Lake Marriott City Center. The location is excellent and makes it easy to get around downtown, whether you are in town for work or just exploring the city. The staff was genuinely friendly and welcoming, which always sets the tone for a good stay. The rooms and overall facilities were clean and well maintained, making it a comfortable place to relax after a long day. The gym is also a nice size for a hotel and has enough equipment to get in a solid workout. Overall, a very positive experience and a dependable place to stay in Salt Lake City.

I was extremely impressed with this Marriott City Center location. Staff was extremely attentive from front desk, to housekeeping, to bell gentlemen. Every request was met with smiles and the room was very well appointed with sitting area, microwave, safe, fridge and a gorgeous and well cleaned bathroom. I was extremely impressed with this hotel and this one is even nicer than the City Creek location nearby. Would highly recommend!

Came for a weekend getaway in SLC. We chose this one because of location and the fact that it seemed newer. It was also a little bit more expensive than the other Marriott hotels around and thought we wanted something a little nicer than Residence Inn, Courtyard, etc. We were not disappointed. Parking on a Friday night was plentiful in the garage for a fee (for those who criticize having to pay for parking, have you never stayed in a downtown hotel before? Of course it's for a fee). The fee was reasonable. The parking was plentiful. The staff was friendly. The room and bed was comfortable. Everything felt newer and nicer. The pool and hot tub were perfect (I like the water hot and it was). The location by the ice skating rink at Galivan Plaza and the mall was perfect for exploring and had a lot of great food options (try From Scratch a stone's throw away). We had a great experience here and would recommend again. One thing I would say to management -- this was not a big deal for us, but another commenter mentioned something about room service dishes remaining in the hall. Well, we had a wine glass that sat outside out room the entire time we were there. By the look of the remnants of wine in the glass (how it had evaporated) it had been there a while. Again, not a huge deal to us, but since it did sync with another commenter's post, I thought I would call it out.

Full transparency - my entire experience was made amazing because of Chantelle at the front desk. We had struggled during our first night because of the late time we had checked in but then met Chantelle the next day - she went above and beyond to help me out and my kids. She is kind, very hospitable and made sure to make this a very easy stay for us. Huge kudos to the service and experience she provides. The room is spacious and large, location is amazing (at city center and easy to drive everywhere). Parking was also pretty simple and easy to use the self park options. There is also a concierge lounge that is well stocked.

Everything was great until checkout. Room was paid for in advance. Restaurant and bar tab paid at checkout. Damage fee was taken off the next day. However, a$143 01 charge remained . I asked at checkout what it was for, and the front desk could not tell me, but was sure it would come off. I call once a week for 3 weeks, trying to get this removed. Accounting, a man named Connor, was never available and never called me back. The lady at the front desk was always helpful and delivered messages to accounting. I talked to my bank and said it would be removed after 30 day. It has been removed, but don't fell like this is how it should have been handled. No phone call, no explanation.

Don’t stay here. You can hear your neighbors and there is definitely no privacy. This is not the place to stay. I was sleeping with my tv on and I was woken up to security pounding at my door and they threaded to “kick me out” for having my tv on while I was sleeping. Do not stay here.

Go to this hotel, the staff is so respectful and the bed is very comfortable. Although there is only one bed, but the couch folds into a bed. We did see a stain on the sheets though. The shower doesn't have a door but it is big and soft, no pressure at all. The hot tub wasn't very hot. And the pool was packed. We did go during new years though so we expected the hotel to be packed. We had a good stay.

This is another Bon Voy property that feels conflicted about what they are. Are they high end or a fancy motel? Staff make it feel like a motel. Location is amazing. Some quality points are the gym, pool, great concierge lounge. I think better management and staff training would go far. The valet seemed uninterested in helping. The front desk was drinking their Starbucks and we felt like we were interrupting a break ipon check-in, nit a great first impression. The room cleaning staff were loud very early and you still have to request a room cleaning but no one told us that on check-in. The free room water bottles are micro size. Even the decor seems inconsistent. Luxury on the stairwell then a junky looking Christmas tree in the lobby. I think Marriott has forgotten the value of this location. It's too bad because the location is really unbeatable. But, for now we'll try other properties.

Marriott went above & beyond and exceeded my expectations. I have some serious allergies and the staff here was very understanding! They put allergens friendly options in my room and removes their standard products (that contained items in am allergic to). It was such a nice touch and I felt like they really addressed all of my concerns, we will definitely be back and trust Marriott to take my allergies seriously!
