The Appenzell Inn offers a cozy retreat with several appealing amenities, including a pool, hot tub, fireplace, and kitchenette. Recent guests have praised the friendly staff and convenient location, particularly for exploring nearby Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park. However, cleanliness concerns regarding bedsheets have been repeatedly raised.
You can find some good deals here, but you better check the bedsheets before you get comfortable. I've stayed here three times now, and on two of those times I've found hair on the sheets, so I'm assuming the cleaning ladies simply make the bed, but don't remove and wash the sheets. Like, they don't even make the effort to remove the long hairs, they don't care. After the 3rd time, I've moved to a different hotel. I know we are in a drought, guys, but....I'm not paying $150 to sleep in used bedsheets.
We stayed here for 4 nights. Breakfast was basic- cereals, breads, waffles, yogurt, coffee, juice. Today was the only day that fresh fruit was offered (apples). Evening s‘mores were nice. Our room was small but cozy. A bit of an odd set-up with the tub/shower in the main bedroom. There was one male staff member that was super friendly and helpful, but all the others were a bit standoffish.
Our stay at the Appenzell was absolutely fantastic, largely thanks to the incredible staff who went above and beyond during an unexpected snowstorm. Patty & her crew got us out during an unexpected snowstorm; their friendliness and dedication really made us feel looked after. The location was a short drive or reasonable walk from the town and the lake, and we loved being so close to the national park. The room itself was nice, especially the fireplace which kept the whole place cozy during the snowy days. The kids loved the pool & us the hot tub, which was the perfect way to unwind. Between the smores, waffle breakfast and the welcoming atmosphere, it was exactly the kind of family getaway we needed. They are friendly & good with kids.
I loved my stay here! Had i known I'd enjoy this hotel as much as I did i would have come up a night earlier. I got a room with the jet tub and mini kitchen space. There was outdoor furniture right outside our door on a private deck that we sat at night looking at the starts. There was also propane grills available for use that were clean and well maintained. The pool and hot tub area was nice. I really enjoyed the hot tub! It was clean big and powerful jets. I'd like it if there wasn't kids aloud in but that's just a personal preference. There is a movie room with dvds people can take back to their room and board games. There breakfast was really simple but with so many places to eat near but it's not a big deal. Overall a great stay and we will be back!
We stayed in a loft style. It was absolutely beautiful. Small kitchen with hot plates, dishes, coffee maker, sink, fridge and microwave. 2 private bedrooms and a bathroom. The fireplace and high ceilings were a great touch. Big balcony with grills, pool and hot tub and a smoking area far enough away to keep the property clean but not too far of a walk. Very clean and cozy. Breakfast was great. The maintenance guys introduced themselves, the front desk staff was cheery and attentive. Only wish we stayed for more than 1 afternoon/eveing/morning.
Conveniently located. Exquisitely clean. The in-room fireplace and jetted tub (including complementary bath salts) was heavenly. Breakfast was comprehensive with many choices including cereal, hard boiled eggs, pre-made waffles, yogurt, etc. The evening make-your-own s'mores were quite enjoyable and unique. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. What didn't I like about the property? The stairs leading to the reception and breakfast area were irregular and the ground uneven. I can easily imagine someone losing their footing and getting injured.
Second stay, but this time needed ADA room for mom, and another 2 rooms. Staff (Kenna) picked out the perfect rooms. I was right next door to mom in an adjoining room. We were all very comfortable. Always very clean, and nice amenities in rooms. Exceptional value. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Isaac and Patty.
We are locals and wanted a getaway with a hot tub near RMNP. Rates were quite reasonable since it is the off season. We got the Standard King aka the Petite King with the jetted in room tub. It was perfect for us with a king bed, great pillows, the instant on gas fireplace and of course the 2 person in roon spa tub we wanted for some romance as a senior couple. Some reviews criticize the basement rooms because they dont offer a view of the mountains. We are spoiled living an hour away and seeing the mountains and RMNP anytime we want. We wanted an excuse to checkout the Stanley Hotel and the town of Estes Park and have a relaxing romantic soak while we spend the night. We will be back. The room was clean, beautiful and in a great location. It looks like we will have to settle for a weeknight in the peak season, because rooms are already sold out. I can see why!
We're local to Loveland, and we've stayed here before and have enjoyed both our stays. We love fireplace and hot tub especially after a long cold walk around the lake. We had complimentary s'mores one night on our last stay, but you can always grab a dvd or board game and head back to your room if you prefer. With winter weather here, it probably wouldn't hurt to be prepared w other media that either runs off wifi, in case the satellite goes out. I love some of the simpler things too, like being able to open windows if I want (bldg A). Location is a 3min drive down the hill to Downtown Estes and the walking path around the lake. The kitchenette space is also great; it comes fully stocked w pots, pans, plates, one burner plug in, small appliances, silverware, can/bottle openers, corkscrew, dishwasher, microwave, mini fridge and freezer. It really is a great place to glamp and our retreat from home. Tip: we usually do a small and simple grocery shop before heading up into the mountains.
Thanks you so much - we had a wonderful stay! Your staff even allowed us very early and the room was clean and with lots of extra blankets and all other things. The view from the deck is amazing. Hot tub and pool was clean and wonderful.
