The TownePlace Suites Denver North/Thornton appears to be a mixed experience, with some guests praising its affordability, convenience, and friendly staff, particularly Jessica and Cam. However, recent reviews highlight recurring issues relating to maintenance, cleanliness, and inconsistent service, including broken appliances, damaged rooms, and inadequate breakfast options. There are also concerns regarding noise levels, especially during weekends.
I'm super disappointed in my stay at this hotel. I came here with my parents for a vacation and was looking forward to using the pool because it was heated but obviously maintenance sucks because it was out of order then right before we left we wanted to hang out by the fire and Fernando wouldn't turn it on for us. It's part of the amenities of the hotel so I don't see why we weren't able to use it! Breakfast was the same none of it was good. And their maintenance dude wouldn't stop staring at us whenever we were in contact with him he made my mom feel really uncomfortable. We have stayed in plenty of hotels and this on by far was the worst one. The manager needs to really consider finding new people to run this property because she is either incompetent or she doesn't care if this hotel gets shut down or fall apart. Our room had cracks in the walls and ceilings and the showers were awful. Jessica was super sweet and helpful. If it was up to me she would have been manager of the hotel. We asked for our fridge to be looked at because it wasn't working the maintenance man came in flipped the breaker it worked for a couple hours and went right back out so obviously he doesn't know how to do his job. I did not enjoy my stay at this town place and neither did my parents we will not be returning. Be careful cause I heard a guest complain that they were over charging her to so I'd be careful.
Let me get the cons out of the way first. Some of the trim is a little rough and broken. But it looks like they're working on it. My shower was doing a weird thing with the shower head lever but that's a simple plumbing fix and I'm sure they'll repair that before next guest stays. The door in my room was... almost impossible to open as a disabled person. And my room was one of the ones where there was a doorway in front of two room doors and lord have mercy trying to navigate a luggage trolley through that S curve with a hard to open door and being disabled was... my cardio for the day. Also, weekdays were quiet but weekends were one street takeover after another? I thought the point was to not hit the same place to avoid the cops but it was 3 nights in a row. Although on the 3rd night the cops were waiting. I can't tell if this is a newer build with extra sturdy construction or a great remodel of an older building with great bones because it was solid and quiet. The AC didn't want to cool when it was so cold outside so I cracked the widnow open a little and realized quiet the building was. There's a lot of noise outside that building is protecting you from. Couldn't hear neighbors either. It's sturdy and silent. The service is actually Amazing and if Marriott is ever looking for a new CEO, they should seriously consider Jessica. Although apparently there are three of her because she seemed to always be there and do the work of like 3 people. It was a great stay. Very affordable for the quality. Would 100% stay again. 10/10.
Correen at the front desk was just AWESOME! So friendly, helpful, and accommodating! I was counting on my room to include a bathtub since I bought myself some super nice bath salts and a bath bomb for a relaxing night in. Correen walked me to my room just to verify and when we found the room only had a standup shower she took the time to find me a different room and even threw on an upgrade! Only feedback for housekeeping is the kitchen wasn’t as clean as it should be. The bathroom was near spotless, but the kitchen could have used a solid cleaning of the silverware and wipe down of the drawers. OH! And the morning breakfast didn’t include many options… I’d count on bringing your own groceries to cook in room or go out to eat- but somewhat to be expected for a free hotel breakfast.
I travel all over the country, staying in various hotels for months at a time and have been doing so for years. This is the first time I’ve ever given a review. So let’s start with how it began for me: I check in, later in the evening. I’m accustomed to my studio rooms, but this time they offered me an upgrade (assuming) based on my length of stay. I found that incredibly kind. The breakfasts are consistent and good. Not just good for “hotel breakfast” but actually good. The staff is highly attentive to the property and the needs of their guests. They’ve taken time to just talk to me as a person and know my dogs name. Anytime I speak with someone they always ask if there’s anything they can do. Typically there’s fresh cookies out for us in the lobby. The hotel is quiet. The guests are quiet. The location is quiet. As for the location, it’s pretty centered for convenience. There’s food, a nice little bar and shopping really close by. I can hit most of my needs within a 2 miles. The gym is actually nice and has worthwhile equipment and is incredibly clean. Staff are all incredibly friendly and helpful. From leadership to maintenance, each person here is actually sincerely friendly. This is probably my 5th maybe 6th review overall, I get no benefit from this but it stands out enough to me that I wanted to share my experience here.
Was here from Thursday to Monday for a wedding and it was the perfect spot to lodge while in Denver/Thornton area. They have massive and strong grills outside along with a fire pit that is perfect while sitting and enjoying the weather. I really enjoyed the full suite/studio that we had that had a stove and a full sized fridge and dishwasher. Shout out to Jessica and Cam, they really made us feel welcome and excited to be there.
The room had a hole in the carpet and one wall hvac unit didn’t work. The microwave breaker had tripped for an unknown reason so I reset it. There were tar stains all over the bathroom floor. The breakfast was poor with watery oatmeal and terrible coffee. They ran out of coffee 3 days in a row. We were greeted by a homeless camp one morning just across the street. The hallways desperately need to be vacuumed. The front desk personnel were friendly but rarely visible. The house keeping was excellent. They are the only reason we didn’t move to a different motel.
