This Holiday Inn Express & Suites offers generally positive experiences centered around cleanliness and friendly staff. However, there are significant concerns regarding inconsistent service, particularly with check-in procedures and responsiveness to guest needs, especially during travel disruptions. Recent reviews indicate breakfast quality fluctuates.
The place was nice and really clean. No hassle check in and the staff went above and beyond. The breakfast attendant I think her name was Jess or Jessica assisted my wife and I with carrying our plates to our table. We are elderly and sometimes find it difficult to carry things and she was very kind.
We booked at this hotel as part of a youth sports trip, and unfortunately the experience was very disappointing. When our games were canceled due to circumstances outside our control, the hotel showed zero flexibility or understanding, even knowing we were traveling with a team and families. For teams, schedules change constantly due to weather, field closures, and tournament decisions. This hotel was not accommodating in those situations and made an already stressful travel change much worse. If you’re managing a team, booking multiple rooms, or traveling for sports where plans can change quickly, I strongly recommend choosing a hotel that understands team travel and works with you instead of against you.
Disappointing late-night experience.. I travel frequently for work and spend roughly 45–60 nights a year in hotels. I usually stay with Hilton or Marriott brands, but I’ve also had generally good experiences with IHG as a value option. Amd have Diamond/equivalent status at all 3. This experience, however, was a first. While passing through, I made a last-minute reservation around 2:00 a.m. through the app for the Holiday Inn & Suites in Firestone. I arrived shortly after and waited about 15 minutes for a front desk clerk to appear. When he did, I was told they could not honor my reservation because it was after their nightly audit. I asked whether rooms were available, and he confirmed that they were, but stated I would not be able to check in until after 3:00 pm the following afternoon. I couldnt believe they would turn away a frequent customer and asked if there was any way to be flexible or creative given the circumstances, but was told, “Sir, what I’m trying to tell you is that there is no possible way for me to check you in.” I ultimately drove across the street to the neighboring hotel and had a room key in under two minutes. While the reservation was canceled and refunded later after calling in, the experience was frustrating and left me disappointed with IHG, especially given the situation and the availability of rooms. Certainty won't be trying to book here again, and it makes me even more wary of Ihg's app and check-in process.
This is a really nice place to stay. The staff is friendly and professional, they go above and beyond for their customers. The rooms are super clean. It’s located in a great area. Plenty of food around and things to do. I wish breakfast was at 6 instead of 6:30. I’ll be staying here again!
Went to go have breakfast at 7:15 am. Hardly any food left. What was left was cold. Pancake machine was broken and both coffee machines were broken. Had to leave the hotel for coffee and breakfast. Not acceptable. Will stay somewhere else next time.
This was truly one of the best hotel experiences I’ve had at a Holiday Inn. The staff was so friendly and beyond hospitable. Breakfast every morning was delicious, and the rooms were spacious and clean. We will be back to stay here when we return to the area!
I have been to 45 states and staying at so many hotels, and I can say this Holiday Inn is the worst of all hotels I have ever stayed my entire life in regard to the front desk’s attitude. We were staying at a casino resort in Black Hawk during the past week so we needed to move out to a regular hotel for one night to do laundry before we flew out of state. This is the only reason I had to book a room at this Holiday Inn. But they didn’t inform me about their malfunctioning washer although I did ask them about laundry when I checked in. Until the next morning when I asked them for coin change, they told me that their washer was down a week ago. So I kindly asked them if they could help calling the hotel next door if they could let us do laundry for a fee. But the front desk guy just told me to walk over there and ask myself, saying “I’m not gonna call them for that.” I know I could call the hotel next door myself, but I’m not happy with the way that front desk guy responded to their guests when the guests asked for an amenity the hotel listed. Rude!
We spent a weekend at this location while in town to visit family. We had a great stay. The room was clean, quiet and the TV worked LoL (we've got stories). The complimentary breakfast ? was excellent every morning. We were running late to check in our first day due to a severe accident on I-25. We called the phone # provided and who ever we spoke with wasn't much help. Thankfully when we got to the hotel the gal working the front desk was someone different. She was very friendly and helpful. Thank you for a great overall stay at the hotel.
