This hotel offers budget-friendly lodging near Denver with generally favorable mountain views, though several recent guests reported significant issues with maintenance, cleanliness, and odor.
This place has bed bugs. Front desk staff that I had dealt with were sort of rude. Rooms are not properly cleaned. The entire lobby area where food is served, smells of sewage. Picture is of the headboard and behind the TV console, in room 248. Also, having a plug like that is a fire hazard. People are complaining about being charged the $500 fee regardless of smoking in the room. I believe candles, perfumes and other fragrances will trigger their air quality monitors. So be mindful of that if you stay here. It's under the desk.
Took 3 rooms to finally get a clean and working room where nothing was wrong. Staff was very helpful though each time I asked to change rooms, whether it be because of no hot water or stains on the bed. Current room is very nice and I have no complaints. Cheap hotel with pretty decent breakfast and coffee, and the views of the mountains are amazing for how little I paid.
Price was right. Took forever to get hot water, like 15 minutes. Toilet ran constantly-not sure why housekeeping hadn’t caught that. And worst of all, figured out the refrigerator wasn’t plugged in when we got ready to leave and our seafood leftovers from the night before were room temperature. Room was clean, staff was friendly, easy to get to, simple continental breakfast sufficed.
We had a wonderful three-night stay at La Quinta. The room was clean and comfortable, the service was friendly and welcoming, and the overall atmosphere was quiet and relaxing. We truly appreciated how pleasant and stress-free our stay was, and we wouldn’t hesitate to return the next time we’re in town.
If you're looking for a budget hotel within easy driving to the Denver area this place might be for you. If you're looking for a hotel without hot water for your shower or a working tv, a room with only a few working outlets so you get to choose either plugging in the fridge or the light this might be your place. Don't worry about the bottle caps in the corner they're free. Breakfast starts at 6 with a waffle iron and a few bagels. The unpleasant smell of either sewer gas or the water heater exhaust adds to the ambiance of the lobby. The hotel staff were pleasant and accommodating.
The water heater doesn’t work very well if you stay in the second building- you have to let the shower and the sink running for about 10 minutes to get even a little bit of water. The breakfast is alright, it’s mostly waffles if you’re not really early. The rooms get quite cold and have some wiring issues so it’s best to use the lamps instead of overhead lighting. Also, it was pretty inconvenient that the bathroom didn’t have a door.
Please do not be deceived about this place it’s awful below is the email I sent and have yet to receive any response back. I’m also including photos. Keep in mind would you want your children to stay in a place like this. I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to express my concerns regarding my recent stay at your hotel after traveling in from Tennessee on Christmas night. Upon our arrival at approximately 10:00 PM, we were disappointed by the condition of our room. While we understood that it might be older, we did not expect the level of cleanliness and comfort we encountered. The room had an unpleasant odor, and the floor was dirty, with sugar packets scattered about. Upon attempting to use the pull-out couch, we discovered that the sheets were not clean, displaying significant stains. I checked the closet for additional bedding but found none available. I approached the front desk to request clean bedding, but the staff member's demeanor was unhelpful. Although he eventually provided some bedding and two pillows, the items were inadequate—lacking pillowcases and consisting of thin sheets and a bed skirt, which my daughter had to use as a blanket. Furthermore, the television in the room did not offer any channels, and the musty smell was overwhelming, necessitating the use of the air conditioning, which was both loud and ineffective. The bathrooms and hallways were also not clean, and the dining area that evening was in a similar state. I typically do not voice complaints, but the combination of the hotel's condition and the service received was concerning. I checked out early this morning, feeling that the experience did not reflect the standards I have come to expect from Wyndham properties. Although I booked through a third-party site and was informed that a refund would not be possible, I would appreciate some form of compensation or a voucher for a future stay. I would appreciate if someone could contact me regarding this matter. I am attaching photographs to illustrate the conditions we encountered. I will hold off on posting any reviews until I hear back. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
The La Quinta Inn on Youngfield Service Road was adequate to meet our needs for a four night stay in Golden, Colorado. The motel was a good value for us, as we essentially used it as a base camp for our daytime excursions by rental car. While the motel will not meet the needs of all travelers, (it is aging and needs a bathroom refresh & a deep clean), it met our needs. Adding to that, the stay included a breakfast of waffles, bagels, boiled eggs, sausage, yogurt, dry cereal, oatmeal, muffins & orange juice and coffee. Our stay in December 2025 was very inexpensive as we booked through Expedia. The courteous staff, breakfast and the proximity to locations further west really made our stay at pleasant one.
trip, and out of all five hotels we stayed in, this was by far the worst—and possibly the worst I’ve ever experienced. I’m very easy to please, and this is not a complaint about the staff; the staff was polite. The issues were entirely with the property’s condition and cleanliness. Although the rate was low, the experience was absolutely not worth it. Upon arrival, the clearance bar at the entrance was broken and hanging so low that I couldn’t even drive in properly. That alone set a bad first impression. When I stepped into the lobby, I was hit with a strong odor that genuinely smelled like sewage, as if there was a plumbing issue allowing fumes to escape. We had two rooms with four beds total. My mattress was literally broken—not the frame, but the mattress itself. Sitting on the edge felt like there were hard boards or walls poking into my sides, and the entire middle of the mattress was completely sunken in. I normally shower twice a day, but that night I slept in the clothes I arrived in because the bed was unacceptable. Every sheet I checked had stains, and one of the sheets was torn. All of the beds also had a strong, unpleasant odor that made it clear the sheets had not been freshly changed. My daughter’s bed had a pillow that was black with dirt. We immediately set it aside. In one of our rooms, the TV kept changing channels on its own, likely because the kids in the next room were using a remote on the same frequency. To make matters worse, there was a large stain on the wall that resembled dried blood. And, to top everything off, the smoke detector had a low battery and beeped loudly throughout the night, making it almost impossible to get any real rest. I wasn’t originally planning to leave a review, but after receiving multiple emails asking for one, and now having the time, I felt it was important to share our experience. Also, booking directly through their site felt questionable, and they repeatedly tried to upsell additional packages. This stay was extremely disappointing, and I hope the management takes these issues seriously for future guests.
?????????? My fiancé and I stayed here while in town for the Martin Garrix show at Red Rocks, and we honestly don’t understand why this hotel has such low ratings! Our experience was wonderful from start to finish. The staff were friendly and welcoming, our room was clean and comfortable, and the location was super convenient for getting to the venue and around the Denver area. We felt safe, everything worked perfectly, and the price was very reasonable compared to other places nearby. Sometimes reviews can make you hesitate, but we’re so glad we gave this La Quinta a chance — it completely exceeded our expectations. We’d absolutely stay here again the next time we’re in Colorado
