The DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Denver - Thornton receives mixed reviews, with concerns regarding cleanliness, room conditions, and inconsistent service. While some guests praise the convenient location, friendly staff, and comfortable beds, others report issues with dirty rooms, malfunctioning amenities, and frustrating staff interactions. Overall, the property shows signs of age and needs improvement to meet Hilton brand standards.
I’ve staid at many DoubleTree hotels, however, this one failed to meet anywhere close to expectations minus the bed being comfortable. There was hair on the bathroom counter under the towels. Shower had absolutely no water pressure and was horrible, you would think they would check these things? Breakfast was nice, but with a restaurant on site one would expect it to be. Hotel is aged and you can tell this. My room was advertised as a Mountain View, however, the only view I had was a building beside the hotel. Not sure I’ll be back.
Only good thing about this hotel was that there is no carpet and restaurants across the street. I booked this place because it was dog friendly and near the places we wanted to visit only to find out that you get charged for leaving the dog(which wasn’t specified online). This had us change our entire trip as we had a senior dog that couldn’t tolerate some of the outdoor activities. Only stayed because I was too tired from the drive from another state to find a different hotel. The first room was dirty so I requested a room change as there was glitter everywhere. The worst thing was how thin the walls are. If you want sleep, I would not recommend this place. You can hear everything from someone dropping an item from above, to the showers, and the conversations. This also meant my dog was not able to sleep from being able to hear everything. The front desk staff was nice so I did not want to complain as it wasn’t their fault despite the fact my room key did not work several times.
I would not recommend this hotel! I thought because this was a Hilton hotel that it would be nice. However that wasn’t the case. The hotel is dirty, 2 young ladies at the front desk were rude! We had 2 rooms. My son’s room was dirty which looked like dried blood in the bathtub, called from desk was told they cannot switch rooms due to being booked, but they would send someone up to clean it. They never send anyone up. My son got back from the Morgan Wallen concert at 2:30 in the morning. It was still dirty. Went downstairs. A new lady at the front desk. Which was surprising since the girl before her said that they were booked and had no rooms. My room had plumbing issues. They finally got it fixed however while waiting my nephew need the restroom so went to the restroom on the first floor. There was blood all over the way! DISGUSTING! ? the hallways were dirty black rubber gloves just thrown there along with trash. I won’t ever stay here again. I did make complaint to the front desk. Manager was not around so they took my number but failed to hear back from manager.
The hotel lobby is very nice. However... for $135 a night I would expect a few things. 1. There is no microwave in your room unless you book a "deluxe" that still looks like a standard room to me?? You have to take your food all the way downstairs to the first floor to warm it up. Good luck if there's a line because there's only one microwave. #2 The fridge is smaller than a mini and this had me laughing all night. I couldn't fit my leftover plate in there. You either have to eat it now or discard it because of temperature danger zone. #3. The thermostat in the room wasn't working properly and didn't hold heat all that good. #4. Missing key necessities to make a room feel great for this price, but charging for breakfast....is crazy work. I wouldn't book this place again, even if it was free. The staff was the best part... Honestly??
Worst restaurant breakfast service I've experienced in all my stays at Hilton properties. Was seated right away, (not the problem) the 10 min wait and no waitress stopping by for a drink order, food order or anything for that matter. Everyone else there had already been waited on and eating. She walked past other tables giving refills and didn't even bother looking my direction so I could wave her down. This is the service you give a Diamond member. I'd hate to see how you treat just the average guest.
Victoria is the best front desk agent always there to help my mother. No complaints ? also the housekeeper Beverly was nice and kept everything tidy.
Very disappointing experience. I got locked out of the hotel at 6:00 AM, and Cate at the front desk refused to let me back in. There was no effort to help or show any understanding of the situation. I was never notified for reason of turning my key off halfway through a month long stay. Poor customer service, especially at such an early hour when guests need assistance. I would not recommend staying here based on this experience.
A wonderful, clean hotel with an amazing staff! We spent a week here over the holidays into the new year and felt very well taken care of. The staff was very personable My only note for future guests is to check the bar hours if that's something you enjoy, as it was closed for most of our stay due to low occupancy. We did manage to catch it open once, and the service was excellent. Great food options near the hotel! We'd definitely stay again for the hospitality and cleanliness!
Doubletree, a very convenient location in Thornton. The staff was excellent, accommodating and very friendly. Lovely lobby, bar and restaurant. I stayed at Christmas time 2025 in the hotel had great decor, may be away from home at Christmas cozy. Anthony, manager at the front desk Was very helpful Christmas morning, grateful for that!
I stayed at the DoubleTree by Hilton Thornton for four nights and unfortunately experienced multiple issues that fell well below Hilton brand standards. During the majority of my stay, the wall thermostat in my room did not function. In addition, there are no exhaust fans in the hotel bathrooms. Combined, this caused the room to be extremely stuffy and humid, which significantly impacted our comfort and made the first three nights miserable. The issue was only addressed on my final night. The bar offerings were also extremely limited. There was very little alcohol available, including the absence of common selections such as Michelob Ultra and a very minimal wine selection. It raises the question of how a hotel can operate a bar when it is so poorly stocked. Another inconvenience was that a side entrance was not functioning, which was especially inconvenient for guests traveling with pets. I was also surprised to learn that complimentary tea is no longer offered. Free tea is a standard amenity across Hilton properties and part of what guests expect from the brand. As someone who travels frequently and stays in hotels regularly, this is the lowest-standard Hilton property I have personally experienced. I do want to emphasize that the front desk and housekeeping staff were extremely accommodating, professional, and kind throughout my stay. Nearly every staff member I interacted with went above and beyond to be helpful, despite the limitations of the property itself. Overall, this stay did not align with Hilton brand expectations, and I would strongly encourage management and Hilton leadership to review this property’s compliance with brand standards before recommending it to future guests.
