The Boulder Broker offers a budget-friendly stay in Boulder, prioritizing convenience and proximity to campus and restaurants. However, recent reviews highlight significant inconsistencies between the advertised amenities and the actual property condition, including outdated rooms, maintenance issues, and misrepresented facilities. While some guests appreciate its affordability and friendly staff, others have experienced serious concerns regarding cleanliness and overall value.
The staff at the Boulder Inn are some of the loveliest people I've ever met. Kind, attentive and truly care about their guests : )
Tales of the Broke and Broker. Be honest, we're all looking at the Broker Inn because it's the cheapest hotel in Boulder. We were in town for a concert and if you're someone just looking for a cheap, convenient place just to sleep, then this is the place for you. The hotel itself has easy, free parking. The lobby is old school and quite beautiful and the front staff desk were very nice and a cash snack bar open all night. The room... it was a clean, place to sleep. We had a king sized bed in a brown and dimly lit 1970s friend's basement. Old bed, old pillows, old plumbing. Smells musty, but wasn't dusty. The hotel itself is perfectly located for multiple bus lines and access to campus. There are also good, convenient restaurants and a Sprouts. 4 stars, but 10/10 would stay again.
This place is a little bit dated, and a little bit odd. The front entryway and stuff are all made out to be pretty formal/ fancy, but the dark wood in the rooms is a little much, carpet seems old, bathroom floor was a little sticky, floor to ceiling mirrors in the room was a bit odd as well. The top of the bed was completely detached from the bed itself, and the furniture kind of matches-ish. (Kind of seems thrifted) Besides that, the room was clean, the bedding was clean, so it's a fine place to stay.
Walked into our room and immediately left and booked to stay at another hotel. Our room was bare bones with exposed wires and nails in the ceiling. Super creepy vibes. Not a great location. There’s no way we would have been comfortable sleeping there. Don’t be fooled by the pictures on their website.
The hotel website and other listings falsely advertise that the restaurant and pool renovation are complete. These amenities were the reason I made the booking in the first place. Rooms and public spaces are outdated.
0/10 recommend. We booked adjoining rooms for a quick girls weekend. We booked the hotel based on the website which advertised a restaurant, bar, and game room in the Swim Club. None of which were actually there. No signs indicating these were seasonal. Front desk did not say anything about these amenities not being available. Giant banner on the outside of hotel even stated, “ restaurant, bar, and pool now open”. We didn’t expect the pool to be open, but we did expect the others to be. When we arrived to our adjoining rooms the front desk staff was friendly but clearly overwhelmed. We got to our rooms and one room had what looked to be vomit in the sink. When I called the front desk she was short and rude, but she did send someone to clean for us. Shortly after cleaning was finished we took the stairwell outside our rooms to go downstairs only to find that the doors in the stairwells had no door knobs on the inside. When I called to tell the front desk, from the stairwell I was locked in, she proceeded to lecture me on why I shouldn’t use that stairwell instead of just sending someone. Later that evening when we arrived home from the dinner, the other bathroom sink began pouring water from the base of the sink. We called downstairs multiple times but no one answered. The shower did not drain as well. The next morning someone called around 9 am to address our concern. By that point we had decided we were not going to continue our stay. Everything the website sold was inaccurate. As of this review, 3 days after our departure, the GM still has not called us per our request to discuss issues and refunds. The health code violations and fire hazards alone are enough to not ever stay again or recommend to anyone traveling to Boulder, CO.
We stayed here in September 2024. Compared to other hotels in the area, this one was very affordable, especially given the season. This hotels has recently been renovated, but you wouldn’t know it from the room that we had. While it was clean, both the bedroom and the bathroom look very old and dated. We didn’t particularly care because we weren’t in the room much, but definitely something I’d consider if you plan on being in the room more than we were. The hotel has a coffee shop that was open until 3, the staff working there were very friendly and helpful.
