The Moxy Boulder offers a trendy and centrally located experience, particularly appealing to those seeking proximity to downtown Boulder’s attractions. While praised for its vibrant atmosphere and friendly staff, concerns regarding room size, soundproofing, and inconsistent amenities persist. Recent reviews highlight both exceptional service and significant operational shortcomings.
The Moxy Boulder has one major thing going for it: the location. It’s in a fantastic spot that’s easily walkable to downtown Boulder, with plenty of great restaurants, shops, and attractions nearby. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience fell short. For a relatively new hotel, I was shocked at how poor the shower water pressure was. What should have been a simple, enjoyable shower became frustrating every day of my stay. The staff also left a lot to be desired. While everyone was friendly enough, most employees seemed like college students with very little customer service training or hospitality experience. There was a noticeable lack of professionalism and attentiveness throughout the property. The mandatory $40 valet parking fee feels excessive, especially considering there are no alternative parking options. The rooms are also not particularly functional, with very limited storage space, no in-room coffee, and surprisingly poor sound insulation. Outside noise frequently made its way into the room, making it difficult to fully relax. Overall, the location is excellent, but the weak water pressure, lackluster service, expensive valet parking, noisy rooms, and missing basic amenities make it difficult for me to recommend this hotel. I expected much more for the price.
I had the absolute best time at the Moxy this week. I was in Boulder on a work trip and the location of the hotel was extremely convenient. Just a short walk to Pearl Street. Abby and Beck at the front desk were so welcoming and instantly made me feel at home. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and everyone!
Worst experience possible at a hotel I’ve ever had in my life. The room did not meet my expectations for a “4 star” Hotel. The first part of this experience was housekeeping waking us up at 8:30am for a cleaning when we had until 12:00pm to check out. The most unsettling/worst part was After we told housekeeping that we were still in the room, about an hour later someone barged into our room with NO knock and we were very vulnerable in our room getting dressed. This is absolutely unacceptable and unfair since we paid for the room until 12:00pm. We approached the front desk staff and they blamed us for not putting the “do not disturb” sign on our door but our room was not provided with one. They blamed us for not informing the staff that we didn’t have one. Why would a paying customer ever anticipate staff members to enter the room unwarranted when checkout is at 12. No knock before barging in is insane to me, and the front desk staff said there was nothing they could do about it. Extremely upset this happened and the staff tried to give us free drinks / coffee at the bar for compensation. Absolutely unacceptable and will never recommend a Moxy or Marriot brand hotel to anyone again.
Had a great stay here! loved the room layouts - lots of hooks to hang belongings which keeps everything visible and the room looking tidy. Rooftop hot tub was a nice plus. Lobby is beautiful and welcoming and bright. Walking distance to shops, restaurants , and coffee. All staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean. The front desk attendant - I think her name was abbey - was especially helpful and kind at check-in.
The moxie has become one of my go to spots before any sort of event at the university - the bar is a beautiful space to hang and has friendly staff and great drinks. Big shout out to Abby, she always greets us with a big smile and is living proof that great customer service still exists!
Moxy Boulder is awesome!! Every time we come to Boulder we stay here!! Best location, chic, lively, fun bar, rooms comfy, and friendliest staff. Shout out to Abby and Ben at the front desk! You welcome guests perfectly with your huge smiles and helpful nature. Sko Buffs!
I made a mistake in my booking and had booked the wrong date. the staff was awesome about a finding me a room on a completely sold out weekend. Abby, Layla, and Maddie were so helpful and nice to deal with. Top notch people. I have had an excellent experience every time I stay here
We had such a nice stay! The hotel was clean, comfortable, and welcoming from the moment we arrived. Everything felt well taken care of, and the atmosphere made it easy to relax and enjoy our time. A special thank you to Abby and Minna — they were both incredibly kind, helpful, and professional. They truly went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. Their friendly attitudes made our experience even better!
We hosted a private group event in the venue space called The Living Room located near the bar. The space really felt like we were in a living room and was so cozy with the fireplace and couches. The appetizer spread they provided was delicious and the staff were extremely helpful and attentive to our guests. We will come back for our special events.
I had a really great stay at this hotel from start to finish. Check-in was quick and easy, and the front desk staff made me feel welcome right away. Ben helped me when I arrived and was genuinely kind and helpful, he answered a few questions about the area, explained everything clearly, and made sure I had everything I needed. The room was clean, comfortable, and quiet at night, which I really appreciated. The bed was cozy, the bathroom was spotless, and everything in the room worked properly. The hotel itself felt well taken care of, and the common areas were clean and nice to walk through. Overall, it was a smooth and relaxing experience, and I would definitely stay here again.
