The Hyatt Place Boulder/Pearl Street offers a convenient and comfortable stay in Boulder, with positive reviews highlighting its prime location near restaurants and Pearl Street Mall, clean rooms, and a good breakfast. However, some guests have experienced issues with reservation discrepancies and a lack of responsiveness from staff regarding these issues.
We had an excellent stay! The hotel was amazing, breakfast was awesome, and the trail system around Boulder that leaves less than a block from the hotel is beautiful. Shout out to Dominique who was very kind and provided fantastic customer service.
The hotel's location is prime for getting where you need to go in Boulder. Easy walking distance to restaurants and shopping. A quick car ride will land you downtown. Room was clean and spacious. Parking was easy, plenty of spaces to park in the garage or street parking. Pool and hot tub looked nice. Gym had a decent amount of cardio equipment. Breakfast was decent. Service is efficient but not the friendliest.
We had a wonderful stay at Hyatt Place Boulder at Depot Square over our anniversary weekend. I honestly think this is my favorite Hyatt we’ve stayed at yet. The location was perfect for exploring Boulder, and the hotel was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. What really stood out, though, was the hospitality. Every staff member we interacted with was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely happy to help. We were traveling with our toddler, and everyone made us feel so comfortable. A special shout-out to Dominique at the front desk, who was especially kind and helpful throughout our stay. She went out of her way to answer questions, offer recommendations, and make sure we had everything we needed. We left feeling like we had chosen the perfect place to stay and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Boulder. We can’t wait to come back!
The room, amenities, and overall property were wonderful, and up until the final part of our stay, I was having a very positive experience. The hotel is comfortable, well-maintained, and in a great location for exploring Boulder. Unfortunately, a significant issue occurred that greatly impacted my stay. When we checked in, we extended our reservation by two additional nights. However, when we returned on what should have been our second-to-last evening, our room keys no longer worked. We were informed that only one additional night had been added to the reservation and that housekeeping needed access to the room, meaning we had to gather our belongings and leave. To make matters worse, there were no available rooms at the property. I understand that mistakes happen, and the staff handled the situation professionally and courteously. However, this is a fairly serious error. Had I been traveling with children, elderly family members, or a larger group, the situation could have been extremely disruptive and stressful. I was surprised that no meaningful accommodation was offered, whether in the form of a credit, assistance securing another hotel room, or another gesture to help resolve the inconvenience. While my experience prior to this was genuinely enjoyable, this incident ultimately overshadowed an otherwise great stay. I would encourage future guests to carefully verify any reservation extensions, and I hope the hotel reviews its processes to prevent similar situations from happening to others. The property itself is excellent, but this experience would make me think twice before booking here again.
Had the perfect stay at Hyatt Place on Pearl Street. I checked in on the mobile app, got my Digital Key, and had everything ready for us when we got there. Front desk staff were very helpful and explained parking in the adjoining garage. Rooms were spacious and beds were very comfortable.
Lee was an absolute delight. In a world of cold, efficient and unpersonable desk staff he made us feel so at home. Our room was comfy and clean. No problems staying here, will absolutely pick this spot again if we need an affordable place to stay in Boulder. Thanks again Lee!
first time booking a hotel room as young adults and it went amazing! they were so helpful and patient with me even tho i called them many times before booking to verify everything was correct. the room was lovely and they even gave us an upgrade facing the mountains! the location is really nice. we were near a lot of places and restaurant. there were also lime scooters and e-bikes to rent right outside of the hotel. there’s a patio area outside with tables and chairs. & the pool/ hot tub were amazing! we will definitely be staying here again when we return to the boulder area, our time here was truly great!
My daughters and I had a great stay. Rooms and hotel super clean. Great location to walk trails and several great restaurants within walking distance. Bike shop and rentals just 1 block away. Downtown historic boulder and other must see sites just an easy 5-10min drive away. Staff was super friendly and helpful during our stay.
I stayed here during the local fire prevention power outage. I was displaced for five nights. I booked my stay here through Bookings, and chose the option to pay online, not once I got there. When I checked in at the front desk, the employee told me I needed to pay still. I explained I already paid online. He insisted. I had been offered to stay at a friends after I booked, so I asked him if I wanted charged yet, if I could cancel. He said yes, I wouldn’t get charged and I would be able to cancel. I still got charged for my stay through Bookings, so I would have been double charged if I had stayed. I have contacted Bookings about this situation, and Hyatt denied my refund. I have emailed a few times Hyatt at this location and have not heard back. A few days after staying at my friends, I ended up staying here. I was told I wouldn’t have to pay for parking in the garage, and I have now received a bill in the mail for parking. I have emailed Hyatt and they said they would void it, but weeks later I have received another parking notice, so it was not taken care of. To top it off, there are countless homeless people around the hotel. There was a man sleeping on the ground in a parking spot in the parking garage, and many roaming around at night which felt unsafe.
WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE The hotel itself is very nice and the breakfast was excellent. A heads-up for others: parking is self-paid and can be a bit of a walk from the entrance. Our stay started on a high note—the guy at check-in was AWESOME and provided exactly the kind of service you expect from Hyatt's lofty standards. Unfortunately, the experience was completely soured during checkout at 6:45 AM on Monday morning. While we were in a rush to grab breakfast and head to the Denver airport, the front desk agent was surprisingly confrontational. When I tried to hand over the keys, he was mildly annoyed that I hadn't proactively given the room number. When I double-checked that we were all set, he claimed my card was "declined." I explained that the stay was already paid for via SkyMiles, but instead of trying to help, he tried to LECTURE me. He actually started Googling Hyatt policies to "prove" they don't take miles, rather than just handling the reservation in front of him. I told him I didn’t care what he found on his computer—I had a confirmed booking. When I asked for a manager, he told me to "come back at 10:00 AM," which is a ridiculous response to a guest who is clearly checking out and leaving for the airport. There is a reason we choose Hyatt, but this agent's need to "educate" a guest in a rush instead of de-escalating the situation was a massive letdown. Great building and great check-in team, but the Monday morning staff needs serious training on how to talk to customers.
