The Denver Marriott West receives mixed reviews, with some guests praising its location, friendly staff, and convenient amenities. However, recurring concerns about room conditions, aggressive fees, and dated facilities significantly detract from the overall experience. Recent feedback indicates problems with staff responsiveness and deceptive billing practices.
WARNING: This hotel steals money! Was charged an Incidental Fee of $388. Only bought a $6 coffee. Was told I'd only get a credit of $294.70. Not only was there a discrepancy in what I was owed. I never even received that amount despite a receipt that said I'd be getting a credit. They lied to my bank and told them that this was a charge for services received. What services?! They were not upfront about taxes, fees or when/how and most importantly IF you will get any money back. Also upsetting is the horrible room experience. The toilet didn't flush. The HVAC ran all day and night but the room never got warm. The bed was hard and the blanket was thin. The television was broken and the tech had no idea what they were doing and didn't fix it. The front office guy who stole my money for the Incidental Fee was rude, inconsiderate and unprofessional. I have never had a good experience at a Marriott hotel and had my job not put me up, I would've never even crossed the threshold. I will NEVER stay at this or any Marriott ever again. They are overpriced and dishonest. They steal money and it's not worth the uncomfortable stay.
We stayed here on Valentine's Night. We had a special dinner reserved nearby & we made a staycation out of it. This is such a gorgeous hotel!!! We stayed in a room with a balcony. The rooms are in desperate need of renovation. They are very dated. The pool & gym areas are awesome, spacious & clean! Front desk staff & our Bartender were helpful, friendly & very welcoming! What a lovely place.
Excellent experience staying here. Great location with easy access to nearby businesses and shopping. The staff were very friendly and informative. Facilities were very clean. It is an older hotel but has been maintained well, is clean and safe. Definitely a location that caters to business travelers/meetings with lots of meeting/conference space. Very nice lobby lounge and room service.
Marriott has apparently gone exclusively to an AI model of customer service, which makes it impossible to resolve problems. They demand an itinerary number, which is never provided, even on the statement. They provide a reservation # & folio # but no itinerary number. Both numbers I called were answered by AI with no option to get a person. When you push "0", AI hangs up on you. The receipt they provided didn't explain the extra $150 charge that is on my credit card. In addition, this suburban location with a huge, empty parking lot has decided to start charing for parking. Hate to be yanked around in AI merry-go-round hell and to be nickled and dimed. Typical corporate BS - do everything yourself online or on your phone and if you have a problem, too bad. We are simply here to take your money. This old hotel with small rooms isn't worth the AI aggravation that dealing with Marriott has apparently adopted as their customer service model.
I don't even know how to begin saying how grateful I am for the incredible staff at the Denver Marriott West. We live in Evergreen and had been out of power (and running water since we are on a well pump) since Wednesday and by Friday morning we were hungry, tired, and in desperate need of a flushing toilet. Denver Marriott West staff were incredibly helpful over the phone, made sure there was space for us, and warmly welcomed us when we got here (even though it was HOURS before regular check-in time). Even amongst the chaos of so many people without power they were so generous, patient, and kind. My heart was so full seeing so many families (and their pets!) here taking shelter (and showers!). Thank you for taking care of us Denver Marriott West!!
If you have an event to plan, this location puts out an impressive buffet dinner. We've been here two years in a row and we're impressed both times. Food is delish and the staff is top-notch. Life is short ~ don't skip dessert! This year, the Reese's Peanut Butter Pie was fantastic. Clean and bright environment, as well.
This is a beautiful hotel along I-70 that is a great place to stay with many restaurants and shopping just advertise the highway. All of the staff, from the front desk to the bar tenders, were friendly, responsive and accommodating. I really enjoyed the grounds, a perfect environment to walk your dog.
This was a great place to stay. The bed was incredibly comfortable and I had no problem sleeping at all. The room was nice and quiet even for a balcony room. Normally I hate hotels with balconys because the doors don't seal properly and you get lots of outside noise. Not here, super quiet rooms, very comfortable, and lots of room. Now breakfast was where it was at. The options, the taste, the service. It was all amazing and I highly highly recommend.
Definitely NOT a 4 star hotel. Stayed for an entire week for work purposes so received the “full experience”. While the exterior of the property was beautifully kept (with some updating needed), the inside was a different story. The hotel cleanliness always seemed last priority. The floors always dirty in the check-in/bar area/halls/etc. The pool has grime caked on all over the tile (so bad that people scratch their names in it! Hahaha!). The rooms are outdated and very small. Wallpaper and paint pealing/stained bedding and overall…overused and long overdue for some updating. Loud ac unit that never stopped and no ventilation in the bathroom. When we asked for a microwave in our room (due to an extended stay) to make the experience a little more simplified, we were told “no, it’s a fire hazard. You will have to use the one in the lobby”. I also brought along my spouse and two children. We asked if a cot was available for more comfort for our children and was also told no, it’s also a fire hazard. ????? So mind boggling to pay so much for a motel experience rather than hotel experience. Lastly, when we went and sat down in the bar/restaurant area to purchase some food, we eventually left empty-handed as the waitress and waiter almost seemed to avoid us. There was a large gathering of people dining at the moment that seemed to have had priority over us. After waiting for over 30 minutes to try to even place an order, we eventually gave up. Once we decided to leave and go back to our room, one waitress did stop and finally ask, “did you guys want something”. (We were really curious as to how long this would take.) A little late though as our kiddo was ready for bed by then. Overall, very outdated, no hotel type amenities, poor service, very expensive food/drinks/etc. in the “snack” store and not very clean.
Solid stay- clean, quiet, convenient to what we were doing in Denver. Staff was polite and effective as always. Rooms are East coast small- hitting my elbows on doors and such between bathroom and bedroom. Little balcony seating was nice though!
