The Ritz-Carlton, Denver consistently receives positive feedback for its luxurious accommodations and exceptional service, particularly from its staff. However, recent reviews highlight significant issues relating to property maintenance, flooding incidents, and inconsistent service levels, alongside concerns about pricing relative to the observed condition and amenities. Several guest experiences indicate a disconnect between the hotel’s brand promise and the actual stay.
This was one of the most disappointing luxury-hotel experiences I have had, particularly given the price and the expectations associated with the Ritz-Carlton name. The most serious issue was a major water/flooding incident during my stay that resulted in significant damage to my personal belongings. What makes this particularly unacceptable is that the hotel knew the room next to mine had flooded and, despite being aware of the situation, did not take appropriate action to address the water issue before it affected my room and belongings. My belongings were subsequently damaged, including clothing and luggage, resulting in thousands of dollars in losses. The hotel was made aware of the damage and the circumstances surrounding it. Despite this, I have had to repeatedly follow up myself, and no one has returned our calls or taken meaningful responsibility for resolving the situation. The fact that the team was aware of the flooding in the adjoining room and failed to adequately address the situation is extremely concerning. Even more disappointing has been the lack of follow-through afterward. When something goes seriously wrong at a luxury hotel, I expect the hotel to take ownership, communicate clearly, investigate what happened, and make a genuine effort to resolve the damage. That has not been my experience. Unfortunately, the problems extended beyond the flooding incident. For a hotel charging Ritz-Carlton prices, the overall property felt tired and below the standard I associate with the brand. Service was inconsistent, the spa was particularly disappointing, and the overall experience lacked the level of attention to detail and hospitality I would expect from a Ritz-Carlton. The biggest disappointment, however, has been how this situation has been handled. The original incident was bad enough, but being left to repeatedly chase the hotel after the team was already aware of the flooding and resulting damage has made the experience significantly worse. I am still waiting for the hotel to respond appropriately and resolve the damage to my belongings.
valet lost my spare key out of the FOB for my Porsche. went to the spa and they wanted to charge me even though I'm a guest. talked to the manager about the spa should be part of the package. told Josh Im a seasoned world traveler and have never have come across this situation where the spa was NOT included. he proceeded to smile and tell me he's been to 5 other countries and they all had you pay. nothing like being the customer and "one up'd" by the manager of the hotel. this is not customer service. Will never stay here again !!! absurd attitude / ego
Definitely 5 stars. If I could give 100 I would. We stayed at this Ritz Carlton and it was amazing. Vouchers are very helpful in a big city like Denver Co. Concierge is very helpful, front desk is friendly, and the fruit water in the lobby is to die for. The strawberry, blueberry, and orange one is my favorite. I like the chandeliers in the elevator. Our room was very nice too. Bathrooms are very nice and clean, room service for breakfast is great. Food is very tasty. One problem we had though was 3/4 of the nights we had room service there were nats in the bread basket. That was a consistent problem we had. I've also stayed at the Ritz Carlton in Pentagon City and this one is definitely cleaner and better. 5 stars. Great job. (Please note: I am moving from Yelp to Google, and am transferring my Yelp reviews to the Google platform. I visited the Ritz-Carlton of Denver in April of 2024.
Excellent experience! My daughter and I visited Denver to celebrate her birthday, and we stayed at the Ritz. Everyone went out of their way to make us feel welcome and really made my daughter feel special! They had a nice welcome kit in the room (with balloons and a small cake), the concierge team in the lounge all treated her like a celebrity...it was truly a memorable experience. Beyond that, the property is in an excellent location to walk the city, the rooms were very nice, and housekeeping did an amazing job. Everyone here lives customer service and it shows. Pro tip - book dinner at Elways, it was perfect. Special shoutout to Nieve for taking care of our arrangements!
Another fantastic stay at The Ritz-Carlton, Denver! This place truly delivers a 5-star experience from start to finish. The location is amazing, surrounded by modern skyscrapers with beautiful views and on clear days, you can even catch the outline of the mountains. Denver’s weather adds a special charm, you can go from warm sunshine to a refreshing chill within hours, which makes the whole experience feel dynamic and unique. The hotel itself is elegant and well-maintained, with spacious rooms and top-tier amenities. The boardrooms are impressively large and perfect for professional gatherings. What made the biggest difference for me was the staff, extremely friendly, attentive and always ready to help with anything. Everything felt seamless and high-end. Highly recommended for both business trips and relaxing getaways.
Stayed at The Ritz-Carlton, Denver and it truly deserves a 5-star review. The hotel offers a perfect blend of luxury and comfort, with stunning views of downtown skyscrapers and even glimpses of the mountains in the distance. The atmosphere in Denver is unique-you can experience warm sunshine and cool mountain air in the same day, which makes the stay even more memorable. The facilities are exceptional, especially the spacious and well-equipped boardrooms-ideal for business meetings or events. Rooms are elegant, quiet and extremely comfortable. What really stands out is the staff: professional, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, making you feel taken care of from check-in to check-out. An excellent choice whether you’re visiting for business or relaxation, I would definitely come back.
I had a wonderful stay at the Ritz-Carlton Denver while attending a week of conferences. The staff was consistently excellent—warm, attentive, and genuinely committed to making every moment feel special. Housekeeping was superb; each night I returned to a perfectly turned?down bed, chocolates on my pillow, curtains drawn, and all those thoughtful extra touches that make you feel truly cared for. The only downside was the internet service, which was surprisingly unreliable for a hotel of this caliber. Everything else, however, exceeded expectations and made my stay memorable.
We decided to stay the night to celebrate our 31st anniversary. It’s a major step down from last year when we stayed at the over water bungalow at Sandel’s South Coast. Even though it was $400 less a night (Still over $600, not all inclusive, no butler service.), I’ll have to say I was disappointed at the cleanliness of the room and the overall up keep of the Executive Suite. Threadbare furniture, dirty window sills, and furniture with various scratches and dents on the wood furniture. Also, lighting didn’t work on one side of the bed, and over head lamps were crooked. Not sure if this was due to pets being welcomed or not. The service has been excellent but the room quality has drug down the overall rating. They provided the spa and romance package requested with an early Check in. I would not necessarily say this is a five star quality hotel. I’ve seen better quality at four star hotel in various locations. Doubtful we will return. The Ritz hype, other than the service, just hasn’t been worth the expense. We will probably look elsewhere for our next “staycation”.
I recently stayed at this property and encountered a troubling pattern of service disparities and dismissive management responses. While the hotel was not at capacity, I was assigned to a room on the 6th floor, which had ongoing construction, a less favorable view, and was not given the same attention as other guests with similar room types. The night-service notes left by the staff were not provided to me, and I observed other guests receiving different accommodations without clear justification. Valet service was consistently late or unavailable, requiring me to seek assistance repeatedly. More disturbingly, I overheard guests making derogatory remarks about my race and occupation, and when I attempted to document the situation, staff members accused me of causing trouble. One guest explicitly used demeaning language toward me, which left me feeling unsafe and unwelcome. I reported these concerns to management and hotel staff, but there was no apparent follow-up or accountability. Attempts to contact management by phone resulted in hold times, dropped calls, or messages that were not returned, and I have not received any direct communication for a week. This level of discrimination and the lack of timely resolution are completely unacceptable. I am requesting a formal investigation and an appropriate response from senior management, as well as assurances that corrective steps will be taken to prevent recurrence. I will also be notifying corporate offices to ensure this matter is addressed.
The hotel itself is pretty nice and the staff is good but the hotel policies are what I would expect from a budget hotel, not a five star hotel. They nickel and dime you every chance they get: * Parking is not included and is pretty expensive * Same for internet * Same for spa facilities (whirlpool and steam room) * They don’t let you use the gym after checkout All of this ends up adding up so things that are included in lots of hotel fees, end up making the stay much more expensive. At a five star hotel I would expect to just pay the fee and be able to enjoy the amenities (like you can at the Four Seasons nearby). Pros: * Nice rooms * Food was good * Spa is actually pretty nice
